Korean Air is the major airline and the flag carrier of Korea. Seoul in Korea is the global headquarters of destinations of Bangkok Airways. The domestic division of Korean Air serves 20 destinations and the international cargo and passenger divisions of Korean Air serves 130 cities located in 45 countries. Korean Air is the biggest airlines, the flag carrier of Korea with Asiana Airlines being in the second position.
The international hub of Korean Air is located at Incheon International Airport, which is located at a 30 minutes distance from Seoul, Korea’s capital. The Global Operations Center and the global headquarters of Korean Air are located in Kangseo-ku district in Seoul. Gimpo International Airport is the domestic campus of Korean Air. Gimhae International Airport and the Jeju International Airport ate the two other domestic hubs of Korean Air.
South Korean Government founded Korean Air in the year 1962 as Korean Air Lines and replaced Korean National Airlines, which was founded in 1948. Hanjin Transport Group took control of this airline of Korea in 1969. In 1971 on 26th April long-haul freight operations started. In the year 1972 on 19th April passenger services started to Los Angeles.

After the name was changed to Korean Air from Korean Airlines a new dsign was introduced featuring a redesigned livery, blue top in 1984. In 2004 the new corporate objective of Korean Air, “Excellence in flight” was announced. The themes “ At Home” and “ Spirit of the New Korea” were introduced.
